No Plan To Close Nigeria’s Airspace- NCAA Refutes Speculations

0

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has refuted claims that Nigeria is closing its airspace, thereby grounding aircraft operations.

NCAA stated that it has resolved its workers’ crisis through peace meetings with the unions and that there was no plan for the aviation workers to embark on a strike action, as earlier speculated.

According to reports on Saturday, there were indications that the aviation unions, including the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), the Air Transport Service Senior Staff Association (ATSSSAN) and the National Association Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) would ground air operations by Sunday night.

Their decision was as a result of the failure of NCAA management to look into industrial problems affecting members of the ATSSSAN.

However, NCAA has said the workers’ dispute has been resolved and there was no imminent closure.
