Liverpool were denied their first piece of major European silverware in 11 years as Sevilla won 3-1 in the Europa League final on Wednesday night thus ruining the Reds’ Champions League hopes
Daniel Sturridge gave Liverpool the lead with a sublime strike, but Kevin Gameiro levelled 17 seconds after the break with a simple tap-in.
Once they levelled Sevilla dominated and the Spaniards went ahead through Coke’s brilliant first-time hit, reports the BBC.
Coke then beat the offside trap for his second which killed off Liverpool.
Both sides went into the match undefeated in Europa League finals but Liverpool’s spotless record has now come to an end.

It’s a heartbreaking finish for Jurgen Klopp’s side in Europe after famous wins over Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal.
