Nigeria exempts vaccinated travellers from COVID-19 isolation

The Federal Government has exempted fully vaccinated travellers from the mandatory one-week isolation.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the development on Tuesday in a Facebook post.

Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee, Boss Mustapha announced the revised protocol on October 15.

The Secretary to Government of the Federation said vaccinated in-bound passengers will only be required to do a COVID-19 PCR test two days after arrival.

Mustapha noted that unvaccinated and partially vaccinated passengers must observe 7-day self-isolation and do a PCR test on days 2 and 7 after entry.

Persons arriving on a “Business” trip or on official duty staying less than 7 days must be fully vaccinated.

They are expected to produce negative PCR results 72 hours before boarding and conduct a PCR test on day 2 in Nigeria.
