Naomi Campbell welcomes baby daughter at age 50

Naomi Campbell has shared the surprising news that she has welcomed a baby daughter at the age of 50.

The supermodel took to her Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon to share the announcement, as well as an adorable snap of her baby girl’s feet.

She called her new arrival “a little blessing” and an “angel” as she told her followers “there is no greater love”.

In the snap, Naomi cradled the baby’s feet in her hands while the little one appeared to be wrapped in a pink silk blanket embroidered with flowers.

Naomi tweeted: “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.

“So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel.

“There is no greater love.”

Her Twitter followers rushed to congratulate her on her happy news, with one fan tweeting: “Congratulations Queen Naomi. So happy for you and your child. She’s very lucky.”

“Wishing you and your babygirl the best of everything,” another posted.

A third said: “Congratulations sister. Motherhood is the best experience anyone can have.”

Another wrote: “There is no greater challenge but no greater reward. Congratulations.”

Naomi had not announced she was expecting a baby and only revealed the news after her baby girl was born when she tweeted the photo.

She is known to be very private, and has not shared whether or not she is currently in a relationship, or who the baby’s father is.

Speaking to Vogue in 2018, Naomi shared that she would like to have a family one day.

Naomi said: “I’d love to have kids. I don’t discount anything in life. I love kids and always will.

“When I’m around children, I become a child myself. That’s the little girl I don’t ever want to lose.”

But she also told the Wall Street Journal in 2019 that she wasn’t planning on becoming mum any time soon and was surrounding herself with a “chosen family”.
