President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the National Assembly over the passing of House of Representatives member, Yuguda Hassan-Kila.
His condolence was contained in a statement by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu.
The president commiserated with Hassan-Kila’s family, friends, associates, people, and government of Jigawa State.
Buhari urged all those mourning the deceased to “have more trust in God who determines the fate of everyone on earth”.
The Nigerian leader prayed that God would accept the soul of the departed and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
The deceased, who was Chairman, House Committee on Customs and Excise, died at the National Hospital, Abuja, after an illness.
Hassan-Kila represented Gwaram federal constituency of Jigawa.
Deputy Speaker Ahmed Wase expressed shock over the lawmaker’s demise.
Wase said the federal legislature would miss his positive contributions on critical matters.
“We have lost a friend and a brother. Kila was a hardworking and committed lawmaker whose views on key national issues were respected by his colleagues in the House”, he noted.
