Borno: Tinubu More Obsessed With Crushing Opposition Than Fixing Insecurity – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the recent bomb explosion in Borno State, expressing deep concern over the return of deadly attacks in the region.

In a post shared on , Atiku said he felt sad about the fresh wave of violence, saying that the situation is bringing back memories of 2014 when insurgents were at their peak in Nigeria.

He pointed to the renewed cases of suicide bombings and attacks on both civilians and security personnel as a worrying development.

He praised Nigerian soldiers for their efforts but called on the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rethink its approach to security.

According to him, the rise in attacks could weaken public trust in the government’s ability to keep citizens safe.

Atiku also said many Nigerians are not satisfied with official statements that condemn attacks, adding that people are more interested in visible action and improved security results.

The former presidential candidate accused the government of focusing more on political opponents instead of dealing with the growing security crisis.

He said terrorists continue to strike despite claims that strong directives have been given to security agencies.

He added that insecurity affects everyone, regardless of political views, and warned that ignoring honest concerns by tagging them as political could worsen the situation.

Atiku further described the pain of families affected by the attacks, especially in Maiduguri, saying many citizens are questioning why such incidents are happening in areas earlier declared safe.

He also raised concerns about the condition of soldiers, claiming they are battling insurgents with poor equipment while the president is away on an official trip to United Kingdom.

Atiku concluded by saying the government must take the security situation more seriously, warning that failure to protect lives could affect public trust and leadership credibility.
