Troops eliminate wanted bandit Abu A.K, allies in Zamfara operation

Troops of the Nigerian Army, under Operation FANSAN YANMA, have eliminated a wanted bandit kingpin, Abu A.K, and several of his gang members during a joint security operation in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

This was contained in a post shared on Wednesday on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to Makama, the slain bandit, who was linked to the notorious warlord Ado Aleiro, was intercepted after sneaking into Tsafe town to attend the weekly Friday cattle market, his first visit in about five years.

Sources said Abu A.K, who had long been on the military’s wanted list for killings, kidnappings, and cattle rustling, was trailed and arrested with the help of intelligence gathered from locals.

“Following credible information, troops moved swiftly and apprehended him. He was later neutralised during an exchange of fire as he attempted to escape custody,” Makama quoted a source.

Troops also launched another offensive in the northern part of Tsafe forests, killing more bandits and recovering arms, including a Boxer-type rifle.

Security officials confirmed that Abu A.K was responsible for the recent killing of three construction workers with Setraco Construction Company in Tsafe.
