Mbappe now five goals away from becoming France’s all-time highest goal scorer

France captain, Kylian Mbappe, is now five goals away from becoming the country’s all-time highest goal scorer.

This comes after the Real Madrid forward led France to beat Azerbaijan 3-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday.

Three goals from Mbappe, Adrien Rabiot and Florian Thauvin gave France the victory over Azerbaijan at Parc des Princes.

However, according to Sporty TV, Mbappe’s goal against Azerbaijan means the former Paris Saint-Germain star is just five goals away from becoming France’s all-time highest goal scorer.

Currently, former Chelsea and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is France’s all-time highest goal scorer with
57 goals in 137 appearances.

Mbappe, who is behind Giroud, has 53 goals in 93 appearances for France so far.

Behind Mbappe is an Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry (51 goals in 123 appearances.

The likes of Antoine Griezmann (44 goals in 137 appearances) and Michel Platini (41 goals in 72 appearances) complete the top five.
