Casemiro spoke after Estevao’s latest impressive display for the Brazilian national side.
Estevao scored a brace as Brazil thrashed South Korea 5-0 in a friendly tie on Friday.
“He is a young player, we can’t put too much pressure on him,” Casemiro said after at his post-match interview after the game.
“It’s very important to say this, even with him, we have to emphasise this. Because we know of countless players who, if you put pressure on them, their performance drops.
“He plays for Chelsea, he is a starter for Chelsea, in the most competitive league in the world, but we have to take it slow, calmly.”
Estevao is now in strong contention to secure a place in Brazil’s squad under head coach Carlo Ancelotti for their World Cup campaign next year.
The 18-year-old has been impressive since joining Chelsea for £29 million from Palmeiras.
