‘2027 Governorship Election Will Be A Walkover For Me With Tinubu’s Backing’ – Jandor

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has declared that the 2027 governorship election in the state would be a walkover for him with the backing of President Bola Tinubu.
News360 Info reports that the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who recently defected to the APC, made the remarks on Thursday while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Jandor added that, irrespective of his governorship ambition, he will follow and campaign for whoever gets the APC gubernatorial ticket.

He said: “You cannot imagine what is going to happen this time if I have a solid backing of Mr. President and the party in Lagos State. It will be a walkover.

“So, I mean it with no disrespect to everybody. And I keep saying this, whoever at the end of the day the party decides to pick, all of us, we’re going to follow and campaign for.

“You know, I played a smart one in 2021, 2022, when we were in the party. Because I know that we’re not wired to doing anti-party, you know, and the moment the party presents anybody, all of us will fall in line.”

Recall that Jandor recently declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election.

Jandor, in an interview with Vanguard on Thursday, dismissed speculations about other likely contenders, including the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu, and former governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

He also pledged total support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, stating that the President deserved another term to consolidate his achievements and lead the country to even greater heights.
