Fire ravages residential building in Oyo

Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of a fire incident that occurred in a residential building in Oyo town.
The incident, according to sources, occurred at Lane 6A, Gbenga Oyekola Scheme, Boroboro area in Oyo.

From sources gathered, the incident occurred on Wednesday.

It was learnt that the fire affected some properties worth millions of naira in the building.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, when contacted, confirmed the incident.

He said that the agency received the report and immediately mobilised its men to the scene.

Akinwande, while speaking further, noted that men of the Federal Fire Service were also at the scene.

He also disclosed that no casualty was recorded at the scene.

He said: “Upon arrival, we met the last room on the left of a private residential building of a four-bedroom flat on fire. The fire crew quickly swung into action, and the fire was restricted from spreading to the whole building and other properties.”
