‘PDP Will Not Die Under Our Watch’ – Saraki Declares

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has made a bold claim on the future of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that “It will not be under our watch that the PDP will die through non-participation in the general election.”

News360 Info reports that Saraki made the declaration in a post via his Facebook account on Monday, noting that those were his words on Sunday at the PDP National Convention, and following the successful conduct of the convention in Abuja.

He noted that with the successful conclusion of the convention, those words have been matched with action.

Going forward from the conclusion, the former Governor of Kwara State submitted that the PDP must now focus on its reconciliation process.

He gave assurance that the PDP has positioned itself as a credible platform to contest the 2027 election and provide Nigerians with a credible alternative.

The former lawmaker congratulated the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and urged all members to join hands in repositioning the PDP.

“With that clarity, what matters now is what we do next. We must stay focused on reconciliation, strengthen our processes, and build the unity required to win.

“For every aspirant and supporter who stayed the course, the PDP now provides a solid and credible platform to realise their ambitions ahead of 2027. For the doubting Thomases, there is now no room for uncertainty — the PDP will be on the ballot, and will provide Nigerians with a credible alternative.

“While I congratulate all members of the new exco that has emerged from this National Convention, I also extend my congratulations to all other leaders and stakeholders who have taken on new responsibilities. I charge them to know that their mandate is to go and win the 2027 elections for the PDP at all levels. They must not fail in this task. In fact, they must surprise everyone with a very successful outing for the party in next year’s elections.

“To everyone who has kept faith with this party, thank you,” Saraki wrote.
