‘INEC Still Operating Within Parameters Of Confusion’ – Former Minister, Solomon Dalung

Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has claimed that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is the lowest-rated institution of the government.

News360 Info reports that Dalung, while fielding questions in an interview on Trust TV on Wednesday, asserted that INEC is still operating within the parameters of confusion, citing th outcome of the 2023 election.

While urging INEC to redeem its image, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain stated that mere mention of the electoral umpire calibrates the blood pressure of some people because of what they have suffered.

He said, “When an individual sat to say, technical glitch and said, I’ve declared the results, if you disagree, then go to court. This has inflicted monumental pains amongst Nigerians.

“So, it is left for INEC to redeem its image, which, from their body language, they are still operating within the parameters of confusion. So we cannot judge them yet.

“Maybe, they may decide to align with posterity and do justice. That I don’t want to predict. But for grading of institutions in Nigeria, I think INEC is the lowest.”

Meanwhile, Dalung recently accused the Federal Government of buying state institutions, including non-performing governors.

Dalung made the accusation at a protest against the Senate’s approval of both electronic transmission and manual collation of election results at the National Assembly on Tuesday.

He lamented that everyone has endorsed the federal government, adding that even notorious bandit leader Bello Turji has registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
