Powerful People Trying To Stop Me From Getting DNA Test For Mohbad’s Child – Father

Joseph Aloba, the father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has again said his son will not be buried until a DNA test is carried out to confirm the paternity of the singer’s child.

News360 Info reports that a Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos State, had earlier ordered a Deoxyribonucleic Acid test to determine if Liam Aloba is truly the biological son of the deceased.

The directive was given by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga while ruling on an application brought before the court by the singer’s father.

In a video shared on TikTok and seen on Sunday, Aloba claimed that some powerful individuals were working behind the scenes to delay or disrupt the process.

He said the situation has raised concerns for him, especially after the toxicology report did not produce any clear outcome.

He also questioned the credibility of the DNA testing centre that was chosen.

Aloba further revealed that he is considering moving the case out of Lagos State and may seek legal advice on transferring it to Ekiti State.

According to him, this step could help ensure fairness in the process.

He maintained that the DNA test remains a major condition before any burial can take place.

While calling on the Lagos State Government to permit the burial, he made it clear that it cannot go ahead without the test being completed, as he believes it is important to establish key facts.

“Some powerful people have connived to use Mohbad’s death to frustrate me. After the toxicology was done, nothing came out of it, and now they have gone to pick a questionable DNA centre.

“If possible, we will seek to transfer the case from Lagos to Ekiti State. I will consult my lawyer on that.

“I am calling on the Lagos State Government to allow me to bury my son, but without DNA, we cannot proceed. It is part of the evidence,” he said.

Mohbad died in September 2023 in unclear circumstances that sparked widespread reactions across the country.

Since then, there have been ongoing legal issues surrounding his death, as well as disputes over his estate, music earnings, and the paternity of his child.

His son, Liam, was born in April 2023, just a few months before his death.
