Nigerian mum, two kids die on way to church in U.S.

A quiet Sunday morning turned tragic for a Nigerian family in the United States after a fatal road accident claimed the lives of a mother and her two children in Texas.

Nihinloluwa Agoro and her children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, were reportedly on their way to church when the crash occurred in Fort Bend County on March 15. Details surrounding the cause of the accident remain unclear as authorities have yet to release an official report.

The heartbreaking incident has drawn reactions from Nigeria, with the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.

Describing the tragedy as painful and devastating, she said the deaths were “heartbreaking for any family, especially during what should have been an ordinary journey.”

In a statement issued by NiDCOM spokesperson Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa extended her condolences to the grieving family and the wider Nigerian community in the United States.

She also prayed for the repose of the deceased and comfort for those left behind, while wishing a speedy recovery to anyone who may have been injured in the crash.

The NiDCOM boss further urged Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to exercise caution on the roads to help prevent such devastating incidents.

She added that the commission stands in solidarity with Nigerians in Texas and across the US during this difficult time.
