Former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has corroborated the claims of controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, that the Nigerian government knows the name and location of every terrorist.

News360 Info reports that Gumi made the claim during an interview on DRTV.

He was reacting to the insinuations that he knows and interacts with terrorists and bandits, as well as advocates for them.

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Sowore said Gumi is very smart and not a foolish man, as some people think.

Sowore affirmed that terrorists are in bed with the people in government, adding that all major terrorists or criminals are known to Nigerian security agencies.

He said, “Sheikh Gumi is not a foolish man as people think, he is actually very smart. He might be smart for different reasons and be religious in his ways and he’s not telling you anything new.

“All these terrorists are in bed with people in government, whenever there is mass kidnapping, why do you think the government is able to reach out to the kidnappers? It’s because they have their phone numbers.

“If they call one side, the one in Niger, those ones will give them the telephone number of the one in Katsina, who will say it’s not us, its our friends, Gumi is not lying.

“No major terrorists or criminal that is not known to Nigerian security agencies but you find kidnappers doing MCs at the naming ceremony of Police Commissioners in Nigeria, they know themselves. If they want to wipe out all the terrorists today, they know where to get them.”
