UCL: ‘I gave him lot of space’ – Bayern’s Stanisic regrets UEL final against Ademola Lookman

Bayern Munich right-back, Josip Stanisic, has talked about the unforgettable UEFA Europa League final in May 2024, which took place in Dublin.

Atalanta beat Bayer Leverkusen with a score of 3-0 in that game.

The Croatian player, who played in the first half of the game, recognized how much Ademola Lookman, who then played for Atalanta, influenced the result.

Before Bayern’s Champions League game against Atalanta, Stanisic spoke at a press conference.

As reported by Gazzetta, he said, “It still hurts a bit when I think about that loss.

“Lookman was outstanding, and I also played a part by giving him a lot of space.

“I don’t want to play like that tomorrow,” he added, talking about his own mistake in defense during the big game.

Recall that Lookman helped Atalanta win their first European trophy ever by scoring a amazing hat-trick in the final.

His strong finishing and constant effort helped the Italian team win 3-0 against Bayer Leverkusen, breaking the German team’s record of 51 matches without a loss.

The Super Eagles player recently completed a move to Atlético Madrid in the winter transfer period and will play against Tottenham Hotspur in their next UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday.
