United States lawmakers have stated that Nigeria is the most dangerous place in the world to practice Christianity, following an assessment of the alleged genocide in the country.
Congressman Riley Moore presented a report alleging widespread persecution of Christians in Nigeria to President Donald Trump at the White House.
In a joint report from the House appropriations and foreign affairs committees on the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria, the lawmakers shared their perspective on the alleged persecution of Christians in the country.
“Nigeria has become the most dangerous place in the world to practice the Christian faith, as jihadist networks exploit weak enforcement and limited accountability to carry out sustained and coordinated violence against civilians.
“Committee members witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences for innocent communities, regional stability, and U.S. national security interests,” they said in a statement.
Among the recommendations was an appeal to President Donald Trump to strike a bilateral agreement between the US and Nigeria to protect vulnerable Christian communities and eliminate jihadist terror activity.
