Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has dismissed claims that she snatched Olakunle Churchill from his former wife, Tonto Dikeh.The actress addressed the issue through a series of videos shared on Instagram after social media users revived allegations that she was once close to Tonto and later became involved with her ex-husband.
According to Rosy, she has never had any friendship or personal relationship with Tonto.
She said they have never met, never exchanged phone numbers, and have no connection whatsoever.
Rosy explained that the story that she was introduced to Churchill by Tonto and later became romantically involved with him is false.
She maintained that she met her husband separately and was not part of his previous marriage in any way.
She also stated that there was no betrayal because there was never any friendship between her and Tonto.
She said: “I was never my husband’s ex’s friend, not to talk of best friend. I have never met her, I have never seen her. She doesn’t have my number, I don’t have her number. She’s like 8-9-10 years older than I am.”
“When I see comments like she’s your best friend, she introduced you to her husband and you snatched him, you are so wicked, nothing like that happened. I met my husband separately, from that other life he had. The two don’t even go hand in hand.”
The clarification came shortly after online reactions trailed reports that Rosy unfollowed her husband on Instagram.
The development happened around the time Churchill celebrated the 10th birthday of his son, King Andre, whom he shares with Tonto.
Photos from the birthday celebration showed Churchill and Tonto together with their son, drawing public attention due to their past marital crisis.
Responding to the speculation, Rosy said she is happy in her marriage and is being treated well.
She explained that she allowed her husband travel to Lagos to celebrate his son because he had not seen him in a while.
She said she was pleased that the children could spend time with their father and feel his presence.
At the time she shared the videos, she was in Cancun, Mexico, marking her birthday.
Churchill and Tonto got married in 2015, but their marriage ended in 2017 after a public dispute.
Tonto had accused him of domestic violence and other issues, claims he denied.
In 2022, Churchill sent her a cease-and-desist letter over statements he described as damaging to his reputation and that of his wife.
After his separation from Tonto, Churchill married Rosy Meurer. The couple welcomed a son in 2021.
