Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Adolphus Wabara, has said the people of Abia State will not surrender their mandate to any cabal in the 2027 elections.
News360 Info reports that Wabara made the declaration in Aba during a Grand Civic Reception organised by the Ukwa/Ngwa extraction of the state in honour of Governor Alex Otti.
The former Senate President warned that no individual can manipulate the political will of Abia State citizens, stressing that any attempt will be resisted.
According to him, the state would never again be held hostage by what he described as greedy political merchants whose only ideology is power and personal enrichment.
He said, “Let no one be deceived: Abians will never again surrender their mandate to any cabal. Any attempt to manipulate, intimidate, or subvert the will of the people in the 2027 elections will be firmly and collectively resisted.
“The people are awake, alert, and determined to defend their mandate. The era of imposing leaders on Abians must be confronted and rejected decisively. No self-overrated individual or group can force Abia back into political bondage.
“Ukwa La Ngwa and Abia people have chosen light over darkness, truth over deception, and performance over propaganda.
“The future of Governor Alex Otti in 2027 will be decided solely by Abia voters freely, fairly, and democratically through the ballot.
“No individual, group, or cabal possesses the divine right to determine the political destiny of Abia State. The future of Governor Alex Otti in 2027 will be decided solely by Abia voters freely, fairly, and democratically through the ballot.”
The BoT chairman urged Governor Otti not to be distracted or intimidated by forces plotting against his re-election, noting that the era of lies, blackmail, and political brigandage was over.
He also praised Otti’s leadership over the past two and a half years, describing the governor as transformative.
He said, “Otti has emphatically proven that with the right leadership, Nigeria can still work. His scorecard over the past two and a half years is not built on propaganda but on verifiable achievements.
“His performance has justified the overwhelming goodwill that greeted his emergence in 2023. His administration has demonstrated preparedness and competence. Otti’s leadership footprint is bold and unmistakable.”
Wabara also stated that the unresolved crisis within the Labour Party made the PDP the ideal platform for Otti’s re-election.
He added, “The PDP, with its national reach, tested structure, and experience, offers a stronger and more stable platform for consolidating the gains of this administration in 2027.”
