Ibadan: Fire ravages 8 shops in Sango

Fire incident, on Monday, razed some shops attached to Sango Divisional Police station.

No fever than eight shops were ravaged by the inferno, which destroyed properties worth millions of naira.

Chairman, Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the development.

Akinwande in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday said that no life was lost in the incident.

He added that the operation was carried in conjunction with men of Federal Fire Service.

He said “Upon arrival, we met eight (8) out of eighty four (84) shops engulfed by fire.

“Firemen promptly launched a coordinated attack on the blaze and restricted the fire from spreading to other shops.

“The firefighting operation was jointly carried with the officers from Federal Fire Service, Ibadan Command”.
