Nigerian Singer, CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ Becomes First Solo Nigerian Song To Join Spotify 1 Billion Club

Wizkid was the first African artist to join the Spotify 1 billion club in 2017 through his collaboration with Drake on One Dance, which holds the Guinness World Record as the first song to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Ckay has made history as the first Nigerian artist to have a solo track surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify. He reached this milestone with his 2019 hit, Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah), which recently crossed the 1 billion-stream mark on the platform.

Ckay is also the first solo male African artist to reach this landmark.

Reacting to the achievement, the elated singer wrote via his X handle, “First solo nigerian song to cross 1 billion streams.

“Grateful to God and the people involved in this historic success! thank you for streaming.”

Wizkid was the first African artist to join the Spotify 1 billion club in 2017 through his collaboration with Drake on One Dance, which holds the Guinness World Record as the first song to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.

However, Rema is the first African lead artist to have a song surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify, achieving the feat with the remix of his hit Calm Down featuring American superstar Selena Gomez.

South African singer Tyla is the first African female artist to join the Spotify 1 billion club with her viral hit Water.
