Stanley Ajemba, the popular Nigerian filmmaker and activist, who is widely known as Stanley Ontop, has finally been released from police custody.
Earlier, Tori News reported that Stanley was arrested on Tuesday and detained at the Delta State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, in Asaba.
His detention followed a defamation petition written against him by his colleague, actress Queeneth Hilbeth.
The actor’s arrest sparked criticism on social media, with many celebrities calling for his release.
It was gathered that the actor was later released on Wednesday evening after spending one night in detention.
Announcing his release in a video shared on his Instagram page, Stanley shouted, “We are out, we’re out, we’re out!
“The struggle continues, no leave no transfer. Aluta continua. Thanks to my team and family. The love was massive meenh.”
