The Boeing 737-700 Business Jet belonging to Nigeria’s Presidential Air Fleet has been withdrawn from the international aircraft sales platform, nearly four months after the Federal Government initially listed it for sale.
The marketing firm handling the sale, JetHQ, confirmed the delisting on Tuesday.
When contacted by The PUNCH, Laurie Barringer, Manager of Market Research at JetHQ, stated that the aircraft was no longer listed on their website and redirected all future inquiries to the Nigerian government.
“Thank you for your email. We no longer have the listing on the Boeing. You will need to reach out to the Nigerian Government for information as to what has become of the aircraft. I appreciate your time — Laurie Barringer, Manager of Market Research, JetHQ,” the email read.
As of press time, the Nigerian government has provided no official statement explaining the reason for the withdrawal.
The media aide to the National Security Adviser, Ismail Garba, who promised a response, has yet to provide an update.
The jet, purchased in 2005 for $43 million under President Olusegun Obasanjo, was put up for sale by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration in July 2025 as part of a cost-cutting and fleet rationalisation strategy.
Prior to its delisting, the aircraft had remained unsold for nearly four months.
According to aircraftcostcalculator.com, a pre-owned Boeing 737 BBJ carries an average market value of about $56 million, depending on its configuration and maintenance records.
Records showed the jet underwent a partial refurbishment in July 2024 at AMAC’s Basel facility, which included first-class seat refurbishment, cabin carpet replacement, and major C1–C2 inspections.
