Manchester United are planning to negotiate with Cameroon, Morocco and Ivory Coast to delay the departures of their key squad members, ahead of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The players in question are Bryan Mbeumo, Noussair Mazraoui and Amad Diallo.
This year’s AFCON startd December 21 and aned January 18, which means United will be without them for a crucial run of fixtures.
Amorim is however optimistic deals can be struck with their respective associations.
United want to have them available for the trip to Wolves on December 8 and the clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on December 15.
“We are trying to have the players a bit longer but we will see. I think it is two weeks before the start. We will try to arrange something with the federations.
“We already knew [about AFCON] so it is a chance for other players. It is not ideal, they are so important in our squad,” Amorim said.
