Enyimba have denied reports it has slashed the salaries of its players by 50% following the home defeat to Wikki Tourist.
The nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, champions lost 1-0 to Wikki Tourists in a matchday 13 encounter in Aba on Sunday.
It was the People’s Elephant second home defeat of the campaign.
Technical adviser, Stanley Eguma and two of his assistants were suspended following the disappointing result.
The former African champions in a statement released on Wednesday stated that the management is committed to maintaining highest standards of professionalism in its relationship with players and staff.
“Enyimba FC wishes to categorically state that at no time did the management approve, initiate, or implement any salary reduction. The club remains fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in its relationship with players and staff,” reads the statement.
The Aba giants will be away to Katsina United this weekend.
