Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has reacted to backlash over his recent action where he kicked a couple out of his concert in Denver for sleeping while he was performing.
His action has been attracting criticisms after the lady involved claimed the incident affected her negatively.
However, addressing the issue during a recent livestream, Burna Boy stated that he didn’t beg for fans, boasting that he only values rich fans.
“Did I tell you all to be my fans? I am only looking for fans who have money this period,” he expressed.
Burna Boy’s response has sparked fresh discourse about how he treats his fans, who are the main drivers of his musical success, with some threatening to “cancel” him.
This isn’t the first time the singer would be involved in a controversy with a fan. He previously made similar headlines after he kicked a starstruck male fan who stormed the stage to hug him while he was performing.
Burna Boy also once asked a fan to leave his concert for not dancing while he was performing.
He didn’t apologise for either occasion.
