The Department of State Services (DSS) has rearrested a wanted Ansaru terrorist, Abdulazeez Obadaki.
Obadaki was one of the 879 inmates who escaped Kuje Custodial Centre in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja in 2022 after the prison came under deadly coordinated external attack by members of the Islamic State-linked terrorist groups.
Recall that Obadaki is alleged to be the mastermind behind the attacks on banks in Uromi, Edo State and fatal shooting at Deeper Life College in Okene, Kogi State.
A source at the secret police confirmed the development but failed to give further details of the operation.
The re-arrest came nearly three months after the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, announced the arrest of two men he identified as leaders of the Ansaru terrorist group.
