Nottingham Forest head coach Sean Dyche has commented on Taiwo Awoniyi’s performance in Sunday’s Premier League win over Leeds United.
The Reds rallied to beat the visitors 3-1 at the City Ground for their first league win under Dyche.
The win extends Forest’s unbeaten run to three games in all competitions
Awoniyi replaced Igor Jesus one minute before the hour mark.
The Nigeria international is enjoying a new lease of life after struggling to feature regularly under previous manager Ange Postecoglou.
Dyche praised the striker for his contribution.
“T [Awoniyi] was excellent. He seemed a little lost when we got in but he knows he has a part to play for us,” he was quoted by BBC Sports UK.
“I thought he was excellent when he came on. He’s a bit of an unsung hero at times.”
