The decomposed body of a man earlier reported kidnapped has been discovered in a mining pond in Farin Lamba community, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The development was contained in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to Makama, the discovery was made around 4 p.m. after residents alerted the police to the presence of a body floating in the pond.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kaduna Vom Division reportedly led a team of officers to the scene, where the corpse was identified as that of Mr. Cyril Nilanda, a resident of NITR Quarters, Vom.

Nilanda had been kidnapped on September 30, 2025, and had remained missing since then.

The police assured that efforts are ongoing to identify, trace, and arrest those responsible for the abduction and killing of the victim.
