Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has reacted after his side defeated the Republic of Ireland 1-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
Recall that a late goal from Ruben Neves ensured the Selecao defeated Ireland to maintain their 100 per cent record in Group F of Europe’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ronaldo nearly cost Portugal the win in Lisbon but was bailed out by Neves.
The Al Nassr forward celebrated the win on social media after the game.
He expressed delight with Portugal for moving a step closer to qualifying for next year’s World Cup.
In a post on his Instagram account after the game, Ronaldo said: “Another step taken! Let’s go!”
Portugal’s next World Cup qualifier is against Hungary on Tuesday.
