Tinubu Likely To Win Middle Belt In 2027 – Sam Amadi

The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Dr. Sam Amadi, has said that President Bola Tinubu stands a strong chance of winning the Middle Belt in the 2027 general elections if certain political dynamics play out.

Amadi, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), made the prediction in a post on his X handle on Saturday.

According to Amadi, Tinubu’s chances in the Middle Belt will largely depend on political strategies involving both the President and the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, Peter Obi.

“They are making it easier for Tinubu to win the Middle Belt. It depends on just two games from Tinubu and Peter Obi, and I will call the zone for Tinubu,” he wrote.

Amadi’s comments come amid widespread speculation surrounding the defection of former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He suggested that such realignments in the political landscape were likely to smooth Tinubu’s path to consolidating support in the Middle Belt ahead of 2027.

News360 Info reports that the Middle Belt has often been regarded as a swing region in Nigeria’s electoral politics, with its voting pattern playing a decisive role in past presidential elections. Amadi’s remarks add to the growing debates on how shifting alliances, defections, and opposition strategies could shape the outcome of the 2027 polls.
