Suspected Palm Oil Thief Disgraced, Tied up at Akwa Ibom Market

The quick intervention of market leaders and vigilant traders prevented the situation from escalating into mob action.

A suspected palm oil thief has faced the disgrace of a lifetime.
It was gathered that the thief had allegedly been terrorizing palm oil traders at Urua Anwa Market in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State before he was apprehended.
The suspect was nabbed on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the suspect, said to have allegedly been targeting traders for some time, was caught while trying to sneak away with a container of palm oil.
The quick intervention of market leaders and vigilant traders prevented the situation from escalating into mob action.
He was later handed over to the appropriate authorities for further questioning and possible prosecution.
