MC Oluomo Begs Tinubu To Forgive Kwam 1 Over Flight Misconduct

The National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to show mercy to Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (Kwam 1) over alleged breaches of aviation regulations that disrupted a ValueJet flight.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had accused the 68-year-old musician of violating air travel rules while boarding ValueJet Airlines’ morning service (Flight VK 201) to Lagos.

According to FAAN’s spokesperson, Obiageli Orah, Kwam 1 allegedly brought alcohol on board—a practice prohibited on domestic flights in Nigeria. This reportedly led to an altercation with a flight attendant.

Following the incident, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, placed the musician on a six-month no-fly list for all domestic and international flights pending investigation.

Reacting via a statement on his Instagram page on Monday, MC Oluomo begged President Tinubu, the NCAA, and the aviation minister to temper justice with mercy.

The statement reads, “To His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers of Nigeria (NURTW), humbly and fervently appeal to you to exercise mercy and forgiveness towards Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1). Like a prodigal son, K1 has acknowledged his mistakes, is sincerely apologetic, and is willing to make amends.”

MC Oluomo further urged the Director-General of the NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, and Minister Keyamo to lift the ban on both Kwam 1 and the pilot, Oluranti Ogoyi, who were sanctioned over the altercation at the local wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
