Bauchi State Police Command has said it is investigating three men who were suspected of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy.
In a statement on Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, explained that the case was reported at ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters on July 16 by one Ibrahim Maikudi.
Wakil said the complaint detailed that Mr Maikudi discovered excrement on the trousers of his 12-year-old son. “His wife corroborated this observation, having witnessed this occurrence on multiple occasions,” the police spokesperson said.
He said the minor disclosed that he had been enticed by three suspects –Lukman Mohammed, aged 30 years, Musa Halilu, aged 32 years, and Alkasim, whose surname is unknown.
Following a complaint, police detectives were sent to the scene, and the victim was taken to a specialist hospital in Bauchi for medical examination. Two suspects have been arrested, while a third is still on the run.
According to preliminary investigations, a nearby watchman told the police he had seen one of the suspects, Musa Halilu, chasing the boy on two different occasions. He said he warned the boy to stay away from the suspects.
Later, he saw the boy heading toward the suspects’ house and stopped him, warning him again. When the boy’s mother asked why he had scolded her son, the watchman explained everything.
The boy then told his mother that the suspects had lured him into their house, where they abused him.
