Lagos Governor, Sanwo-Olu Celebrates LASU Law Graduate Who Bagged 8 Awards At Nigerian Law School

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Maryam Lawal, a Lagos State University (LASU) graduate, for her exceptional achievement at the Nigerian Law School.

Maryam was named the Best Graduating Female Student and Second Overall Best Student Nationwide, clinching eight awards, including one for Corporate Law Practice.

According to the governor, Maryam’s feat is not just personal—it’s a proud moment for Lagos and a testament to the quality of education at LASU.

“She represents the best of us—brilliance, discipline, and quiet determination,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He wrote: “Congratulations to Maryam Lawal on her exceptional performance at the Nigerian Law School.

“She was named the Best Graduating Female Student and the Second Overall Best Student nationwide. She also received eight awards, including one for Corporate Law Practice.

“Maryam is a proud alumna of Lagos State University and a fellow Lagosian. She graduated from LASU’s Faculty of Law, and seeing her emerge as one of the top students in the country is a moment of great pride for all of us.

“This is the kind of excellence we celebrate in Lagos. Maryam represents the best of us in brilliance, hard work, and quiet determination. Her success is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when talent meets discipline, and it speaks volumes about the quality of education at LASU.

“I’m especially pleased because her journey began here in Lagos, in a state-owned institution that continues to nurture future leaders. She has made all of us proud.

“Congratulations, Maryam. You’ve set the bar high, and I know you’re just getting started.”
