Presidency Confirms Tinubu’s Return To Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu is set to return to Nigeria, today, Saturday, 12th July, 2025.
This was confirmed in a short statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns to Abuja today after his two-nation visit to Saint Lucia and Brazil,” he wrote on his handle.

The statement from the presidency answers questions regarding the whereabouts of President Tinubu following the conclusion of the recently held BRICS summit in Brazil.

News360 Info reports that before the BRICS summit, Tinubu had embarked on an official trip to St. Lucia.

Recall that on Saturday, 28 June 2025, Tinubu commenced a two-nation visit to Saint Lucia and Brazil.

The 17th BRICS Summit ended on Monday, 7th July, but the Nigerian leader has yet to return to the country, and there had been no official communication on his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has described the much-publicised Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a “scam”, accusing President Bola Tinubu’s administration of failing to deliver any meaningful infrastructure project since taking office.

Naija News reports that Lawal made the claim during an interview on Inside Sources with Laolu Akande, which aired on Channels Television on Friday.

The former SGF, who served under the former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, said he is yet to see any project by the current government that is impactful or visible to everyday Nigerians.

He argued that Nigerians have become disillusioned with recurring promises, particularly those that never materialise into completed projects.

Lawal didn’t mince words when addressing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, which President Tinubu flagged off in May.
