A young man has been k!lled by gunmen in Enugu.
The man has been identified as 32-year-old Ndubuisi Udutchay.
He was killed by unidentified gunmen in Enugu State.
It was gathered that Dubby, was shot by the assailants on July 3, 2025, at Independence Layout. He was rushed to Parklane Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, July 7, Hon. Comr. Nwachukwu Okpala verified the incident, stating that Dubby, as he was affectionately known, had just moved to Abuja and had come back to Enugu to pick up his car when he was k!lled.
“Too Heavy to Bear With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, we mourn the tragic passing of Ndubuisi Udutchay, a bright and promising young man whose life was cruelly cut short,” he wrote.
“At just 32 years old, Dubby, as he was fondly known had begun a new chapter in Abuja, full of hope and vision for the future. He traveled back to Enugu to bring his vehicle to Abuja for easier movement but met with violence that shattered many hearts.
Shot by unknown gunmen on the night of July 3, 2025, at Independence Layout, Enugu, Dubby was rushed to Parklane Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on July 4.
In his final hours, our nation’s failing medical system and the worsening security situation in the Southeast could not offer the lifeline he so desperately needed.
This is a heartbreaking reminder of how often the dreams of our youth are silenced by the very systems meant to protect and nurture them. Another family is left to grieve, another mother left to bury her son. And a nation loses yet another spark of potential.
May God in His infinite mercy receive Dubby’s soul and grant him eternal rest.
May He also strengthen the Udutchay family and all who loved him with the grace to carry this unbearable grief.
To my dear brother and friend, Comr. Engr. Odera Udutchay (Onyeocha Ndiowu). Please accept my deepest and most sincere condolences. No words can fill this void, but may you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and in the legacy Dubby leaves behind.
Journey well, Dubby Udutchay. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. It truly hurts.”
