2027: ‘Nigerians Will Tell Tinubu To Hold The Mandate Until 2031’ – Yahaya Bello

Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has reiterated that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027, stating that Nigerians will keep President Bola Tinubu in office until 2031.

News360 Info reports that Bello spoke on Saturday at a rally in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area (LGA), Kogi, while welcoming a group of politicians who were defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bello declared that the wave of defection translates to Kogi becoming a “one-party state,” adding that the 2027 elections will be the “simplest, easiest” for the APC and President Tinubu.

He said, “Today, Kogi state house of assembly is going to be one. There would be no minority leader again. The minority leader in the state house of assembly is decamping today.

“Kogi is a one-party state. And, by the special grace of God, come 2027, I have said it before that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock. Tinubu’s mandate was given to him by Nigerians, and they will say to him, ‘hold this mandate until 2031’.

“Who is doing more coalition when everybody is coming to our party? The 2027 election is going to be the simplest and easiest for APC and the president.”

In other news, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has rejected the application by former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to retrieve his international passport for a planned medical check-up abroad.

Bello, standing trial on alleged ₦80.2 billion money laundering, requested his passport through his counsel, J.B. Daudu, SAN, during proceedings on Friday.

News360 Info reports that EFCC’s lead prosecutor, Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), opposed the request, stating a counter-affidavit had been filed and accused the defence of abusing the court process by reopening a matter already before the FCT High Court.
