Tinubu’s Government Has Ultimately Been A Failure – Rhodes-Vivour

The 2023 Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has described the government of President Bola Tinubu as the worst Nigeria has ever experienced.

He scored the Tinubu administration low in areas of security, the economy, and the quality of life of citizens.

According to the Lagos politician, Nigerians are facing the worst cost-of-living crisis in four decades while government officials are living large on the nation’s resources.

News360 Info reports the Labour Party chieftain made the submission on Tuesday while speaking on Channels Television’s Lunchtime Politics.

“This government ultimately has been a failure. When you talk about the quality of life, the cost of living, this is the highest cost of living crisis that Nigeria has faced in the last 40 years,” Rhodes-Vivour said.

He lamented the spate of killings in all regions of the country, saying Nigerians are being killed in their thousands while the government appears unconcerned about the welfare of the people.

“You look at security: over 10,000 people have died in the North, and about 7,000 people have died in the South. On the international tourism index, we have gone from number 8 to number 6. You can talk of policies all you want, but if people are experiencing hardship, simultaneously, you are renovating the vice president’s residence.

“You are using money that just speaks of opulence and good living; you are spending money in the way a country whose economy is buoyant would spend money. It’s all about the people tightening their belts, but you see the government living extravagantly,” he stated.

According to Rhodes-Vivour, the Tinubu government has pushed Nigeria further into poverty, with the country now ranked as the 10th poorest in the world.
