In a vibrant display of solidarity and commitment, the people of the Anambra North Senatorial Zone gathered at the Otuocha Township Stadium in Aguleri on Saturday for a rally in support of the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, ahead of the November 8, 2025, governorship election in the state.
During the exercise, thousands of supporters across the state came together, united by their belief in Soludo’s vision for a better Anambra State, and restated their commitment towards his reelection.
The event, organised by the Anambra North Stakeholders Forum, a coalition of current and former elected officials, appointees and key stakeholders from Anambra North, was aptly themed, ‘Sustaining the solution legacy: A path to disruptive development in Anambra State’.
The exercise served not only as a rallying point for political support but also as a gathering that showcased the community’s aspirations and hopes for the future.

Soludo, who over 5,000 ecstatic supporters greeted on arrival at the event, expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from the people of Anambra North.
He said, “Today is a powerful demonstration of our collective resolve to move our state forward. We emphasise the need for continuous collaboration between my administration and the populace. I am quite excited and surprised that the North Senatorial Zone began this movement officially, even when we have not even set up a campaign council, because we are still focused on the work.
“I hear that the politicians are already moving around. When the time comes, we will also campaign as if we are the underdog to an unknown opponent because we will never take the support of ndị Anambra in vain. Anambra state traditional rulers have now formalised the ‘Oluatuegwu’ as a title – a name casually given to me by a woman on the street during one of my usual road inspections.
“I have a history with Anambra North Traditional Rulers. On October 17, 2020, you invited me and endorsed me to become the governor of Anambra State. Also, immediately I was sworn in, and I started work in Anambra North. I deeply appreciate this, ndị Igwe Anambra North. In 2025, we are beginning this journey in Anambra North. We have largely perfected the process of zoning in Anambra State, where each of the three zones produces successive governors.
“I am telling ndị Anambra, you have not seen anything yet. We will set up a campaign council, and at the appropriate time, we will start our campaign. For now, we will continue our programmes in youth development, regenerative agriculture, health, education, and others. Anambra is one state, one people, one party, and Anambra is APGA land.”
Community leaders, youth representatives, and women’s organisations at the event took turns chanting and addressing the crowd while reiterating their support for the governor.
Reading a communiqué on behalf of stakeholders in the region, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze, passed a vote of confidence on the governor because of what they described as “landmark projects” in Anambra North, courtesy of Soludo.
Among the notable attendees was the APGA National Chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, who restated total support for Soludo as well as the State Chairman, Ifeatu Obiokoye.
Others include the Commissioner for Special Duties, Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche, Member representing Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Lady Maureen Gwacham, Primus Odili and Marcel Ifejiofor, who emphasised the importance of engaging the people in governance, noting that Soludo knows this and is committed to creating more opportunities for the people to thrive, eliciting cheers from the crowd.
The event highlighted various initiatives launched by the Soludo administration. One of the standout moments came when the Governor was officially bestowed with the title of “Oluatuegwu” (one who is not afraid of work), by Traditional Rulers in all communities in the Northern Senatorial district.
