The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a 14-year-old girl for faking her own abduction, along with her four-year-old sister in Katsina State.
A statement by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, said the elaborate plan involved three accomplices aged 25, 19 and 16.
The Force PRO explained that the case was reported to the Katsina State Police Command on February 20, 2025 by one Alhaji Badamasi Bala of Madaci Yan Nono Quarters. Investigation into complaint led to the arrest of all the suspects.
Adejobi disclosed that the 14 year mastermind of the abduction resurfaced after four months and upon investigation, she revealed that she staged the kidnap .
The statement said, “In Katsina State, operatives of the Command acting on a complaint received on February 20, 2025, from one Alhaji Badamasi Bala of Madaci Yan Nono Quarters have cracked a disturbing case of kidnapping involving a 14-year-old girl and her 4-year-old sister.
“Four months later, the older sister resurfaced and, upon further investigations, she confessed to staging the kidnapping and conspiring with three accomplices, aged 25, 19, and 16, respectively.
“All suspects have been arrested, and the four-year-old sister have been rescued unhurt.”
