Another two-storey building collapses in Lagos

A two-storey building under construction has collapsed on Craig Street, Shomolu, Lagos, during the decking process.

The structure is one of two buildings being erected at the site. The exact cause of the collapse has not yet been determined as of the time of this report.

The building’s pillars reportedly fell onto a nearby church, which sustained partial damage.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were recorded, and worshippers inside the church escaped unharmed.

Emergency officials conducted a coordinated search of the site to confirm that no individuals were trapped beneath the debris.

The construction site has since been cordoned off, while officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, carried out public sensitisation and safety awareness in the area.
