Put your house in order, I’m not pushing for one-party state – Tinubu tells opposition

President Bola Tinubu has called on opposition parties in Nigeria to resolve their internal crises ahead of the 2027 general elections, rejecting claims that he is plotting to establish a one-party state.

The president spoke on Friday while commissioning the newly completed Left-Hand Service Carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) Stage II, stretching from Ring Road 1 Junction to Wasa Junction (popularly known as the Apo-Wasa Road), in Abuja.

Tinubu emphasized that, as a President elected on the platform of a different political party, he has no mandate or intention to intervene in the affairs of opposition groups.

Reaffirming his Democracy Day commitment, Tinubu said he remained committed to a multi-party democracy and had no interest in stifling political pluralism in the country.

“I can’t be the one to fix the problems in the opposition,” Tinubu said. “They must put their house in order ahead of 2027.”
