Ballon d’Or: ‘It’s unfair’ – Ronaldinho names player who deserved to win award

Former Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona forward, Ronaldinho has said it was disappointing that his countryman, Madrid’s Vincius Junior did not win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

According to him, Vinicius deserved to win the award.

Rodri of Manchester City was named the best player in the world in 2024 against the expectations of many football fans who were looking the direction of Vinicius.

Rodri played a key role in helping Manchester City win the Premier League and the European Championships with Spain.

For Vinicius, the Brazilian helped Real Madrid claim the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League with Los Blancos.

Ronaldinho told MARCA as quoted by Sportskeeda, “It’s unfair that Vini Jr. didn’t win the Ballon d’Or.”

Ronaldinho noted that the Vinicius has been dominant in major competitions for years now and also scores important goals to help Real Madrid win trophies, adding, “He DESERVED the Ballon d’Or.”

Vinicius scored 25 goals in the 2023-24 season in 40 matches across competitions for Los Blancos.
