Man dressed as woman arrested in Adamawa church

A man, who disguised as a woman, has been arrested in a church in Adamawa State.

The man, 19-year-old Mohammed Umar, a resident of Abuja Road, Yola South Local Government Area, was found loitering within the premises of LCCN Church, Ngurore, Yola South LGA.

The Adamawa State Police Command, which now has custody of the man, said he was seen “wearing clothing that is typically associated with an opposite sex (women).”

The Police said in a press statement released by police image maker Suleiman Nguroje that the man was arrested on Monday, May 18, 2025 in response to a report received from one Sunday Andrawus.

Ngurore said Sunday Andrawus reported the man to Ngurore Divisional Police Headquarters after observing the suspect’s movement within the premises of the Church.

“The Commissioner of Police Adamawa state Command, CP Dankombo Morris, has directed the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yola, for discreet and full scale investigation,” Nguroje stated.
