Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda said operatives of the Rapid Response Squad,RRS on stop and search duty along the Asaba-Benin Expressway arrested two suspected armed robbers/cultists.
CP Abaniwonda disclosed this in a statement sent to Our Correspondent in Warri.
He gave the names of the suspects to include, Blessing Ngbajime, age 49 years, and Okpako Oghenovo, age 27 years respectively.
He noted that the suspects were arrested on 15/05/25 at about 0630hrs.
Abaniwonda also said the operatives also recovered from the suspects, one Fabricated Beretta pistol.
According to CP Abaniwonda,”On 15/05/25 at about 0630hrs, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), while on stop and search along the Asaba-Benin Expressway, flagged down a Jetta vehicle with reg no: ASB18BH with two male occupants named: Blessing Ngbajime, age 49 years, and Okpako Oghenovo, age 27 years.
“Upon search of the vehicle and the occupants, One Fabricated Beretta pistol was recovered from Okpako Oghenovo.”
CP Abaniwonda stated that,”Investigation is in progress, and the apprehended suspects are undergoing profiling and interrogation.”
