Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of fire incident that ravaged a residential building in Ogbomoso in Oyo State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday at Ile -Labe Abepe Area in Ogbomoso.
It was learnt that eight rooms were affected during the fire incident.
Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service Hon Maruf Akinwande confirmed the incident.
Akinwande in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Friday said, “Today Thursday 15th May 2025 at exactly 14:10hrs, the emergency was reported by distressed call and Alhaja Sabiatu to house on fire at the above address. By 14:11hrs, a fire tanker, 5 personnel Acfs Odewabi in charge left for the screen and On getting to the screen of the incident, we met an eight rooms private residential building that already been engulfed by fire.
“We promptly swung into action and within a few minutes, we were able to curtain the fire. No lives was lost and and properties worth millions of naira was saved by fire service agency. The fire incident was as a result of cooking gas unattended to and ingnited nearby combustibles.
“The Zonal Commander Ogbomoso Fire Station CFS Seyi Awoyemi urged the members of the public to always pay utmost attention to domestic gas and other related cooking materials in their various homes.”
