ragedy struck on Tuesday night as two villagers, Linus Davou and Tunde Daylop, were ambushed and killed by gunmen at the Dachidom community in the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was learnt from a post by a counter-insurgency expert on the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, on X.com, on Wednesday.
The deceased victims were reportedly returning from Hwot Village when they were attacked around 9:48 p.m.
Makama who quoted security sources stated that a distress call was received at about 10:30 p.m. from the commander of the local hunters association, alerting authorities to the incident.

According to the security analyst, troops of the Nigerian Army, alongside other security operatives, were swiftly deployed to the area.
“The lifeless bodies of the two men were recovered and evacuated to the General Hospital, Riyom, for documentation and further investigation,” Makama added.
This came barely 24 hours after one Saini Haruna was shot dead while two were abducted following an armed attack on Dogon Ruwa village in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau.
The attack was said to have occurred on Monday at about 5:30 p.m. when bandits on motorcycles stormed the village.
