Suspected herdsmen abduct man in Delta, demand N50m ransom

Suspected herdsmen have abducted a man, Azubuike Bright, who reportedly stepped out of his home to buy food, Friday night.

The victim was abducted at Itogwe Quarters, Ibusa near Asaba in Delta State.

The kidnappers are now demanding fifty million naira as ransom, DAILY POST can report.

A human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, disclosed this in a telephone chat with our correspondent in Warri. He said, “They’re demanding for fifty million naira(N50m) ransom. They’ve called twice now.”

Comrade Gwamnishu in a video he posted on his Facebook timeline said the victim went to buy fufu that he will eat before going to bed when the incident occurred.

According to him, the victim had bought the fufu and on his way back home, the herdsmen accosted and abducted him.

While noting that the Police is their best in the protection of lives and properties, Comrade Gwamnishu called on the people Ibusa in the diaspora to support the community in the establishment of local security outfit by funding same.

He said this will go a long way in protecting the lives of their people.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe in a telephone chat with our correspondent acknowledge a text message sent to him saying,”When I confirm, I will let you know.”
